Also, at the time of writing, 98% of tickets have already been snapped up, so you’d best get a move on if you want to go! Here’s our guide to Kendal Calling 2022, which features bands like Supergrass, Stereophonics, Jade Bird, and The Lancashire Hotpots!
Location and transportation
Kendal Calling takes place at Lowther Deer Park, Hackthorpe (near Penrith), CA10 2HP. If you’re driving, follow the festival signs (not your sat nav) when you get near, and consider booking parking in advance. If you will want to leave the car park and return during the festival, contact the organisers by email to arrange a ‘pass out.’ If you’re being dropped off and picked up by someone who isn’t attending the festival, they will be special zones for that.
The nearest train station is Penrith, which is also known as Penrith North Lakes. A shuttle bus will run from and to the festival site.
National Express will be running coaches to and from various towns and cities in Scotland and the north of England. You can book coach tickets at the same time you book your festival ticket.
Kendal Calling offers weekend tickets with lower-priced tickets for kits. Tickets for children 5 and under are free. Festival goers aged 15 and under must be accompanied by, and camp with, a parent or guardian who must also have their own ticket. Furthermore, if the child is aged 11-15, the parent or guardian must be aged over 30. Also, 16 and 17-year-olds will need to show a valid form of ID to be allowed to enter the festival without an adult.
There are premium accommodation options in the Deer Lodge area of the site with perks like real beds, free car parking, hot showers, and ‘clean enviro loos.’
Festival tickets are almost sold out, so book online now if you want to go! If you buy a weekend ticket, you can also consider an upgrade for Thursday to camp earlier and catch more music.
Logistics and accessibility
Kendal Calling is known for having a theme, with dressing up strongly encouraged on the Saturday. This year’s theme is the animal kingdom.
